The romanesque first work of Petar Ivković, published in 2022 by the Municipal Public Library ”Veljko Petrović” from Žabalj, can be cate gorised as an autobiographical novel with elements of travel writing. The author of the novel is a professional violinist employed in the Orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad. At the end of the 20th century, he spends a total of five months, on multiple occasions, on the streets of Athens with two of his colleagues Bandi the clarinetist and Lali the cellist. During a performance on an illicit spot, where they returned to even af ter police warnings, they were arrested and spent 24 hours in an Athenian jail. Then begins the spiritual journey through time and space of the author and simul taneously the main character Petar Ivković. Stripped of the temporal succession, his memories of Sombor, where he spent his early child hood, Budapest, where he perfected his musical education and Athens, a city which will inevitably become an important part of his emoti onal geography as it is a place of happiness with which he made a ”connection by choice” all begin to blend together. Beyond that, his memories are also recollections of his encounters in Athens which lead him to reevaluate his own shortcomings, weak nesses and rela tionships with people as well as the behaviors of others and relations established between them. This novel is an interesting testimony to the physical and spiritual journey of a musician and an insightful accumulation of images and impressions of Greece and Greeks. Star ting from Bak htin’s term ”chronotope” and one of its categories, the chronotope of encounter, in this paper we dealt with the contempla tion of space and time as deciding factors of creating an image of self and others and, in accordance to that, a perception of ones own identity and encounters with others as an opportunity to reevaluate the aforementioned terms.

Ау тор у раду полази од Бахтиновог појма „хро нотоп” и једног његовог облика, као што је хронотоп сусрета, као значајних чинила ца за ре креирање ау то и хе терослика и представа. Ау тор рада сматра да су доживљај и поимање власти тог идентитета осцилаторни и да су подложни преиспитивању и варија ција ма у сусрету са дру гим. Сваки сусрет прилика је за са мопроцену и процену и превредновање себе, али и дру гог. У роману „Као на леђима делфина” Петра Ивковића измештањем из свога животног простора, који представља Србија, а уже Војво дина, у туђи животни простор грчког ареа ла и његовог главног града Атине, ју нак романа среће се са нама блиском и пријатељ ском, а ипак особеном култу ром у којој стиче драгоцена животна искуства. Током боравка у Атини деша вају му се сусрети, који ће довести до преиспитивања властитих мањкавости, слабости карактера, односа са дру гима, са једне стране, али и туђег пона шања и релација које се успостављају, са дру ге. Роман је интере сантно сведочанство о колико спољашњем толико и унутрашњем пу товању једног музичара и пра ва ма ла ризница слика и пред става о Грчкој и Грцима, што једнако представља предмет инте ресовања ау тора ра да.
