On seed trees of European white lime (Tilia tomentosa Moench.) the occurence and duration of some phenophases, important for fructification, were observed. The obtained results show that the beginning and duration of some phenophases has much more varied from year to year (10 to 14 days) than from tree to tree (2 to 4 days) in the same year, pointing out that these phenophases are influenced by environmental factors, mainly by temperature. It is especially important that in unsuitable meteorological conditions in the course of the phenophase of seed formation and seed ripening, period of ripening is shorter 4 or 6 days. This fact must be taken into consideration by fixing the time of seed harvesting lin predormant state.
