The influence of organic mulch in the technology of seedling transplanting in the nursery was studied. The results show that the mulching in the first year after planting has no influence on seedling growth. ln the first year the importance of the mulching reflects in the change of microclimatical conditions in the soil, by keeping more uniform soil temperature and soil moisture, what had a positive effect on survival of spruce seedlings.
