Selection of seed stands of Balkan pine (Pinus peuce Gris.) on the site of mountainous beech near Katići (village on the mountain of Javor) will help to afforest the top parts of the high-mountainous region of spruce area. Balkan pine has shown to be more tolerant species to these microsite conditions in comparison with spruce.
