The boar - Sus scrota (Linne 1758) with subspecies which live on the territory of Yugoslavia is a very important hunting game spread throughout our country. Since according to different authors the data on their increase vary in a large diapason from 1.5 to 5 pigs (and even more), the investigation was made to establish the real increase in our low- and highland hunting areas. This investigation has shown that in natural conditions of suitable sites, in addition to a minimum protection in reproduction period and aplication of the preparation "Panacur", the real annual increase was 4 pigs per mated sow. The obtained results are especially usable in elaboration of long-term and annual hunting management plans and other silvicultural measures for preserving this species in organized hunting areas.
