Opis (eng)

In the article are given the results of application of growth substances on successful rooting of eight decorative specise, resp. horticultural cultivars. In all analyzed species, on all substrata, either in seed beds or in containers, much better results were obtained by application of the stimulators based on NAA. The differences between treated cuttings and untreated controls were not the same for all species. The application of NAA has increased rooting of cuttings of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Allumii' for 10-23%, Ch. laws. 'Colum· naris' 9-26%, Ch. laws, 'Stewartii' 9-83%, Ch. pisifera 'Plumosa Aurea' 7-39%, Juniperus x media 'Hetzii' 16% Thuja occidentalis 'Pyramidalis Compacta' 2- 26%, Th. occ. 'Rheingold' 12% and Weigela florida DC 17%. Also the application of active coal, to which the preparation "Benomil" was added, has given in many cases better rooting than in the control group, with the results being similar to those obtained with growth substrances. The achieved shortening of production time of 30 days in rooting Weigela florida DC has a big economic importance. Utilization of containers for rooting decorative plants represents a new possibility with a series of advantages which should be favored in the future work. From the exposed one may conclude that the autovegetative propagation by cuttings represents the most suitable method of decorative plant propagation, from both biological and economical aspects, in which application of growth substances plays an important role.
