In this article we are analyzing the relationship between personality and ideology in DusanKovacevich's drama"TheBalkan Spy". Or I am Chvorovich, a character in the drama, a former employee of the Kominformburo, a secret supporter of Stalinism, seized with suspicion, pursueshistenant.ThisplaybyKovacevichisametaphorformodern society. Elijahis the embodiment of an ideological relapse that persists despite changes in society. All the actors in the drama are victims of an impersonatedforce,aboutwhichnotasingle explicitwordis said, but whichispresentasthemaincharacter.Thisforceis Stalinism, andits powerisbased onaspecial kind of manipulation.
