ACCESSIBILITY OF PRIVATE FORESTS IN THE COMMUNITIES OF IVANJICA AND BELA PALANKA
OTVORENOST PRIVATNIH ŠUMA NA PODRUČJU IVANJICE I BELE PALANKE
Vulović, Bogdan
In the past period the problem of private forests was not taken in consideration, until the society had not perceived that the private forests represent a very important natural resource, nearly of the same capacity as state forests. On the basis of the author's investigation, by using an origilnal methodology of investigation, it was found that the accessibility of private forests is much behind the state forests. In the Community of Ivanjica it reaches only 2,91 m/ha and on the territory of Bela Palanka 3,59 m/ha of forest area. The development plans for the future period have not envisaged and intensive forest road building through these forest complexes, what will have a negative impact on the economy of utilization of these forests. In the conclusion of the article the author suggests a special approach to this problem, making demand upon a more intensive building of forest roads, which will contribute not only to a better accessibility of the forest complexes, but also of the villages, which will become joined to public communications.
