The authors have studed the efficiency of the preparations Afugan, Saprol, Rubugan and Benomyl 50 WP in controlling powdery mildew (Microsphera alphitoides) and the most suitable combinations of mineral manures and mycorrhiza fungi in production of Quercus pedunculata seedlings in plastic containers. On the basis of the obtained results it was concluded: - The fungicides: Saprol, Afugan, Rubugan and Benomyl, because of their systemic action and favourable conditions for adsorption and translocation, have shown high efficiency in controlling Microsphera alphitoides fungus, which provokes powdery mildew on oak seedlings. - For production of good quality oak seedlings fertilization with complex (NPK) manure is necessary from the very beginning The mostly fertilized seedlings (7 times) were the highest. - By applying mycorrhization the best results were obtained with -the fungus Lactarius sp., when the plants were simmltaneously 5 times fertilized with NPK manure. - Protection and fertilization make possible production of healthy and good quality oak seedlings. which at the age of 70 days can be successfuly used for afforestation of bare-lands and melioration of degraded forests.
