INFLUENCE OF FERTILIZATION ON HEIGHT INCREMENT OF SPRUCE PLANTS AND N, P, K CONTENT IN NEEDLES

In a seven-year old ,plantation of spruce (Picea abies K a r s t.) fertilization of young plants was made with different doses of mineral NPK manure in the following combinations: N1,P1,K, N2,P1,K, N2,P2,K and N3P3K. Doses of Nitrogen: N1 = 300 kg N2 = 600 kg N3 = 900 kg of Nitromonkal\ha Doses of Phosphorus: P1 = 400 kg P2 = 600 kg P3= 800 kg of granulated Superphosphate/ha Dosis of Potassium: K = 200 kg of 40:% Potassium salt/ha The experiment lasted eight years and the manuring was done each second yeair. The unmanured plants, with loosened or unloosened soil around, were used as a control. The mean values of the annual height increment of manured plants were significantly higher from 38.6 to 61.7% when compared with controlled plants. Also the content of N, P2O5 and K2O was the smallest one in the needles of controlled plants.
