The subject of the work involves the analysis of the literary-journalistic and ana- lytical substyle in relation to the literary-artistic functional style in the creative work of the playwright Dušan Kovačević. Based on the selected corpus, which consists of the novelTWENTYSERBIAN DIVISIONSandinterviewswiththeauthor,usingthematic,chrono- logical, and stylistic criteria, the aim is to emphasize the importance of intertwining journalistic and literary-artistic functional styles in the works of Dušan Kovačević. The question of interstyles, in line with the genre question, constitutes another focus and goal of the research. Through stylistic criteria, the analysis of genre polyvalence is ex- amined through the function of stylistic re-registration.
