The effect of "case study" implementation on basic studies during criminal law education

Abstract: The case study certainly represents one of the models of acquiring new knowledge, but also a model of checking the student's acquired knowledge. It encourages analytical, critical and creative thinking. It is indisputable that this way of imparting knowledge and to a certain extent practice must by no means be the only source, but as part of the teaching process in the educational cycle it indisputably deserves a place. This paper has a twofold goal. The first is to indicate in a concise manner the implementation of a case study in the teaching process in the subject of criminal law, while the second goal is to present the results of a survey conducted among second-year students of the Faculty of Law for Economy and Justice in Novi Sad. Each teaching process is followed by a knowledge check by reproducing the same, but the question arises whether, after the educational form has been achieved, that knowledge is also applicable. The applicability can be seen in case studies already during the studies, when real problems are put before the student that he has to solve by applying the knowledge gained from a certain field. In light of the second objective, some feedback was obtained from students and their perception of the need for a case study model.
Kratak sadržaj: Studija slučaja svakako predstavlja jedan od modela usvajanja novog znanja ali i model provere usvojenog znanja studenta. Ono podstiče analitičko, kritičko i kreativno razmišljanje. Nesporno je da ovaj način prenošenja znanja i u određenoj meri i prakse nikako ne sme da bude jedini izvor, ali kao deo nastavnog procesa u obrazovnom ciklusu nesporno zaslužuje mesto. Ovaj rad ima za dvojaki cilj. Prvi je da se ukaže u konciznoj meri implementacija studije slučaja u nastavni proces iz predmeta krivično pravo, dok je drugi cilj prikaz rezultata proisteklih iz sprovedene ankete kod studenata druge godine Pravnog fakulteta za privredu i pravosuđe u Novom Sadu. Nakon svakog nastavnog procesa usleđuje provera znanja reprodukcijom istog, ali postavlja se pitanje da li nakon postignute edukativne forme, to znanje je i primenjivo. Primenjivost se može videti kod studija slučaja još tokom studija kada se pred studenta stave realni problemi koje primenom znanja stečenog iz određene oblasti mora da reši. U svetlu drugog cilja dobijene su određene povratne informacije od strane studenata i njihova percepcija potrebe za modelom studije slučaja.
