Internationalization of higher education through the career development center
Internacionalizacija visokog obrazovanja kroz centar za razvoj karijere
Abstract: The internationalization of higher education is a goal that has been pursued in Serbia for a long time, not only because it is one of the main pillars of modern higher education, but also because it is recognized as a need and necessity, without which higher education cannot be further developed. The paths to internationalization can be different. In addition to student mobility, teaching and non-teaching staff, which in this so-called. Kovid19 year, which proved to be completely unusable this year, higher education institutions have other ways which are available . One of them could certainly be the Career Development Center, which should sublimate a wide range of activities that, step by step, from the very beginning of studies (in the case of students) or from the very beginning of teaching and scientific careers (in the case of teaching staff), lead to successful achievement of individual goals in the form of competitiveness and competence, and thus the general goal of the development of the higher education institution. One of these general goals is certainly the internationalization of higher education and higher education institutions. The current practice of establishing and operating Career Development Centers has been that these centers are established at universities and as such are available to students and teaching staff of all faculties within them. This way of working is a natural consequence, because career development is needed in all areas of science and it does not matter whether it is the natural or social sciences. Comparatively speaking, such centers in Europe are also organized in this way. However, domestic higher education, which in addition to the university as a legal entity, recognizes faculties that are not only organizational units of the university, but also special legal entities and independent institutions, with their own autonomy, position and interests, then it is more than justified to organize career counseling in the form of a certain bicameral system: faculty-university. As the activities of the Center for Career Development are very broad, the subject of this paper will be the activities of the center that lead or may lead to the internationalization of higher education, whether through project activities in career development, mobility counseling, information on international student and / or research scholarships or through direct cooperation of the center with such centers from abroad, application of good practice, etc.
Kratak sadržaj: Internacionalizacija visokog obrazovanja jeste cilj kojem se u Srbiji već dugo teži, ne samo zato što je to jedan od glavnih stubova modernog visokog obrazovanja, već zato što je prepoznata kao potreba i neophodnost, bez koje se dalje ne može razvijati visoko obrazovanje ni u nacionalnim glanicama. Putevi kojima se dolazi do internacionalizacije mogu biti različiti. Osim mobilnosti studenata, nastavnog i nenastavnog osoblja, koje se u ovoj tzv. Kovid19 godini, koja se u ovoj godini pokazala potpuno neupotrebljivom, visokoškolskim ustanovama na raspolaganju stoje i drugi načini. Jedan od njih bi svakako mogao biti Centar za razvoj karijere koji treba da sublimira širok spektar aktivnosti koje, korak po korak, od samog početka studija (u slučaju studenata) ili od samog početka nastavne i naučne karijere (u slučaju nastavnog osoblja), vodi ka uspešnom ostvarivanju pojedinačnih ciljeva u vidu konkurentnosti i kompetentnosti, pa samim tim i opštem cilju razvoja visokoškoske ustanove. Jedan od tih opštih ciljeva je svakako i internacionalizacija visokog obrazovanja i visokoškolske ustanove. Dosadašnja praksa osnivanja i rada Centara za razvoj karijere je bila da se ovi centri osnivaju pri univerzitetima i kao takvi stoje na raspolaganju studentima i nastavnom osoblju svih fakulteta u svom sastavu. Ovakav način rada je donekle prirodni sled, jer je razvoj karijere potreban u svim oblastima nauke i nije od značaja da li se radi o prirodnim ili društvenim naukama. Uporednopravno gledajući, ovakvi centri u Evropi su takođe organizovani na ovakav način. Međutim, domaće visoko obrazovanje, koje pored univerziteta kao pravnog lica, prepoznaje i fakultete koji nisu samo organizacione jedinice univerziteta, već i posebna pravna lica i samostalne ustanove, sa sopstvenom autonomijom, položajem i interesima, onda je više nego opravdano karijerno savetovanje organizovati u formi određenog dvodomnog sistema: fakultetuniverzitet. Kako su aktivnosti centra za razvoj karijere veoma široke, predmet ovog rada će biti aktivnosti centra koje vode ili mogu voditi ka internacionalizaciji visokog obrazovanja, da li kroz projektne aktivnosti u razvoju karijere, savetovanja u mobilnosti, informacije o internacionalnim studentskim i/ili istraživačkim stipendijama ili kroz direktne saradnje centra sa takvim centrima iz inostranstva, primenu dobre prakse i sl.
