Намера аутора је да у чланку осветле бројна убиства и облике насиља које је становништво Косова и Метохије и Старе Рашке чинило једно над другим, укажу на једну од спона која кроз деценије (ако не и векове) на морбидан начин повезује ове две територије, и најважније, да покушају да одреде узроке оваквог понашања и његове рефлексије у данашње време. Користећи објављену и необјављену архивску грађу, као и одабрану научну литературу која се дотицала ове теме, одговоре ћемо потражити у троуглу између: менталитета, сложеног историјског наслеђа и социјално-економске ситуације у датом временском периоду на Косову и Метохији, односно Старој Рашки.

The past of the territory, which encompasses the present geographical entities of Metohija, Kosovo and StaraRaška, is burdened by conflicts of local population on several levels. Parallel to the religious conflicts between Muslims and Christians, there are conflicts based on ethnic diversity (Serbs, Albanians, Muslims / Bosniaks, Turks). Both share a great deal of cruelty and the level of violence as a consequence of the com- plex political, economic and historical processes that have exposed both Kosovo and Metohija and StaraRaška. The intention of authors is to highlight numerous forms of violence that the population of Kosovo and Metohija and StaraRaška committed over one another, pointing to one of the links that, through decades (if not centuries), connects these two territories in a morbid way, and most importantly, to try to determine the causes of this behavior and its reflections today. We find that there is continuity in the forms of torture for the entire period of time that we have dealt with, only the intensity of violence changes depending on the degree of control over Kosovo and Metohija and StaraRaška that the states that governed them managed to achieve. Torture in some cases reached incredible levels of cruelty, suggesting the pathological behavior of the executor.
