ABSTRACT The concept of smart cities has gained traction in recent years as a means of addressing the challenges posed by urbanization, such as congestion, pollution, and sustainability. The implementation of smart city solutions involves the integration of information and communication technologies 155 (ICT) with urban systems to improve the quality of life for citizens, increase efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact of cities. In Europe, there has been significant progress in the development and deployment of smart city solutions, and the region is now considered a global leader in this area. One of the key components of smart city solutions in Europe is the use of digital technology to manage the city's infrastructure and services more efficiently. This includes the use of sensors and other connected devices to monitor and control various aspects of the city's operations, such as traffic flow, energy consumption, and waste management. The data collected through these devices is then analyzed and used to inform decision-making and improve the performance of the city's systems. For example, in Amsterdam, the city's traffic management system uses realtime data to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.

АПСТРАКТ: Концепт паметних градова је добио на снази последњих година као средство за решавање изазова које поставља урбанизација, као што су загушења, загађења, и одрживост. Имплементација решења паметних градова подразумева интеграцију информационокомуникативних технологија (ИКТ) са урбаним системима ради побољшања квалитета живота грађана, повећање ефикасности и смањења утицаја градова на животну средину. У Европи је постигнут значајан напредак у развоју и примени решења за паметне градове, а регион се сматра глобалним лидером у овој области. Једна од кључних компоненти решења паметних градова у Европи је коришћење дигиталне технологије за ефикасније управљање градском инфраструктуром и услугама. Ово укључује употребу сензора и других повезаних уређаја за праћење и контролу различитих градских операција, као што су проток саобраћаја, потрошња енергије и управљање отпадом. Подаци добијени преко ових уређаја се затим анализирају и користе за доношење одлука и побољшање преформанси градских система. На пример у Амстердаму, градски систем управљања саобраћајем користи податке у реалном времену како би оптимизовао систем управљања саобраћајем и смањење загушења.
