Importance of moral and religions on the suppression of corruption in the states of south east Europe

Сажетак: У овом раду аутори ће анализирати питање - какав утицај моралне вредности успостављене путем религија у земљама југоисточне Европе, хришћанства (православље и римокатолицизам) и ислама, могу имати у борби против корупције. Представиће се индекс корупције у земљама југоисточне Европе према методологији глобалног барометра корупције организације Transparency International у последњих осам година. Анализираће се на који начин се третирају морал и вера у сузбијању корупције у Стратегији развоја југоисточне Европе и националним стратегијама за борбу против корупције земаља региона. У дугорочном процесу радикалне атеизације током социјалистичког комунистичког периода у већини земаља југоисточне Европе одбацују се традиционалне, у основи религијом успостављене, моралне вредности, што за последицу има слабљење друштвених заједница и друштвену аномију. Закључак рада ће покушати да покаже, како би један од кључних фактора у борби против корупције требало да буде афирмација моралних вредности и норми садржаних у религијама.
Summary: In this paper authors will try to discuss topic – in what manner ethical values, established trough main religious contexts (Orthodox Christianity, Roman Catholicism and Islam), can influence on suppression of the level of corruption in the South-East Europe. There will be presented index of corruption in the States of South East Europe according to the methodology of Global barometer of Corruption of the Transparency International organization. After that, will be analyzed in what manner religious and ethical values are treated in the Development Strategy of the South East Europe and National Anti – corruption strategies of the States of the Region. In the long-lasting process during communist/socialist period in the majority of the States of the South East Europe, traditional (established basically trough religion) moral values were radically negated, which resulted in weakening of social integration and Anomie. In the Conclusion of the paper, authors will try to explain, why affirmation of the moral values and norms which are contained in religions are key-elements in the suppression of corruption.
