Information society as a way of functioning of modern society

Summary: We could define the information society as a society based on new technologies, based on the information revolution. The influence of computer and electronic technology transcends the economic sphere and affects the whole society and its culture. It radically changes not only the way of working, but also the way of everyday life. In this context, the author’s work refers to the presentation of the basic postulates of the modern information society, with an emphasis on new social paradigms that appear with the changes in society that bring technological revolutions. A special section is dedicated to the digital economy as a new environment within which economic business takes place in modern conditions. Finally, the authors referred to the current state of development of the information society in the Republic of Serbia.
Сажетак: Информационо друштво бисмо могли одредити као друштво које се заснива на новим технологијама, а у чијој је основи информатичка револуција. Утицај компјутерске и електронске технологије превазилази економску сферу и захвата цело друштво и његову културу. У корену мења не само начин рада, него и начин свакодневног живота. У том контексту, рад ауторки се односи на приказ основних постулата савременог информационог друштва, са акцентом на нове друштвене парадигме које се јављају са променама у друштву које доносе технолошке револу- ције. Посебан одељак је посвећен дигиталној економији као новом окружењу у оквиру кога се одвија привредно пословање у савременим условима. На крају, ауторке су се осврнуле на актуелно стање развоја инфрмационог друштва у Републици Србији.
