Summary: The paper analyzes the status, position and influence of the family and the school as an institution of great importance to the cultural and intellectual formation of a young person from the point of safety culture and the increase in juvenile crime in the previous, transitional decades. From the definition of family and the school also derives its civilizing role and importance in the formation of each individual and the society as a whole. Analyzing the effects of the transition process in the family and school in Serbia, the article identifies anomalies in the development of these social institutions and reduce their impact on the development of youth's security culture in the Republic of Serbia. Also, the process of economic transition of the Serbian society inevitably affects the change in cultural models and, as the analysis shows a negative trend indiscriminate and uncritical adoption of the cultural patterns of developed countries through copying the model of behavior without reference to the causes and, in particular, the consequences of such impacts.

Сажетак: Чланак анализира статус, положај и утицај породице и школе као институција од великог значаја на културолошко и интелектуално формирање младе личности са аспекта безбедносне културе и пораста малолетничког криминалитета у претходним, транзиционим деценијама. Из дефиниција породице и школе проистиче и њена цивилизацијска улога, као и значај у формирању сваког појединца, па и друштва у целини. Анализирајући ефекте транзиционих процеса на породицу и школу у Србији, чланак идентификује аномалије у развоју ових друштвених института и смањење њиховох утицаја на правилан развој безбедносне културе младих у Републици Србији. Такође, процес економске транзиције српског друштва неумитно утиче и на промену културолошких модела и, како анализа показује, негативан тренд неселективног и некритичког усвајања културолошких образаца развијенијих држава кроз копирање модела понашања без осврта на узроке и, нарочито, последице таквих утицаја.
