Foreign direct investment as a determinant of the Serbian economy development

Abstract: In the research, the authors synthesized two research aspects, both legal and economic, in order to determine the cause-effect relationship between the inflow of foreign direct investments and the dynamics in the development of the economy of the Republic of Serbia. Defining recommendations for improvement of the existing legislation and efficiency in the implementation of valid legal solutions, with an overview of the comprehensive legal and economic reforms that are currently focused on intensifying economic activity, represent the most significant results of the conducted research. The analysis of economic empirical data obtained from relevant state institutions with a chronological, systemic and teleological analysis of the current legislation provided answers to the impact of foreign direct investments on strengthening domestic economy measured by exports and growth of gross domestic product, and the placement of Serbia on the Doing Business List, with a focus on significant benefits that the state offers to investors in order to influence the macro and micro business climate in the Republic of Serbia.
Апстракт: Аутори су у истраживању синергично објединили два истраживачка аспекта, правни и економски, а све у циљу утврђивања узрочно последичне везе између прилива директних страних инвестиција и динамике у развоју економије Републике Србије. Дефинисање препорука за побољшање постојеће легислативе и ефикасност у имплементацији важећих законских решења уз осврт на свеобухватне правне и економске реформе актуелне код нас усмерене на интензивирање привредне активности представљају најзначајније резултате спроведеног истраживања. Анализа економских емпиријских података прибављених од релевантних државних институција уз хронолошку, системску и телеолошку анализу важеће легислативе дали су одговоре колики је утицај страних директних инвестиција на јачање домаће економије мерено извозом и растом бруто домаћег производа, те пласманом Србије на Doing business листи, са освртом на значајне бенефите, које држава нуди инвеститорима у циљу утицаја на макро и микро пословну климу у Републици Србији.
