Abstract: Copper wire with a starting diameter of Ø 8mm, produced by the "up cast" process, was used in this work. The obtained wire is subjected to drawing, whereby the profiled wires with the following dimensions are obtained: 2.5 x 1.8 mm (deformation degree ε=91 %), 2 x 1.25 mm (deformation degreeε=95 %) and 2.74 x 0.41 mm (deformation degree ε=99 %). 30 cm long samples were cut from each cross section, which were first annealed, then cooled in water and finally subjected to the tensile strength measurement. The annealing was carried out in a nitrogen atmosphere of very high purity at temperatures of 400, 500 and 600 ºC for 2 times, 4 times and 6 times, the time for which a semirecrystallized structure is obtained. For greater accuracy of the results, three repetitions of the experiment were performed. An increase in tensile strength is observed at all annealing times with an increase in deformation degree.
