Апстракт: Тематски фокус истраживања и интерпретације усмерен је ка карактеру и контексту аскезе Петра Коришког, како у погледу монашких традиција у ширем смислу и континуитету тако и у односу на конкретне историјске околности у којима се појављује. Релативно усамљена појава знаменитог пустиножитеља и аскете прати се на основу писаних извора али и предања, рефлектованог кроз разумевање традиције у потоњим монашким круговима и ликовне приказе у оквирима самог свештеног топоса Коришке испоснице али и црквене контекстуализације Петра Коришког кроз подвижничко очување вере и православних тековина. Шире постављена платформа аскетског богословља и монашких пракси има за циљ постепено сужавање предмета истраживања у циљу поузданијег закључивања.

In an effort to investigate the character and context of the asceticism of Venerable Petar Koriški, we reached for the contextualization of the subject - the exceptional and isolated occurrence of the famous anchorite. Since the written sources, which are anachronistic in relation to the topic, need to be approached critically, they were not understood as the only basis for interpretation. The culturally conceived analysis also includes visual representations, first from the hermitage of the Koriš hermit, and then from later periods of the spread of the cult. In addition, on the basis of patristic determinants, throughout the history and theology of the monastic circles of the Christian Church, a certain contextualization is enabled on the basis of a broader research platform. Some observations are compared with known interpretations in the field of ancient literature theory. On the other hand, conceptual clarification was sought based on the postulates of liturgical and patristic theology. Particular attention was paid to the indicators of Peter Koriški's asceticism in the later monastic records. First of all, the model of monastic life, in which idiorhythmy (pustinožiće) and quinovia (obštežiće) are reconciled together, presents the example of the Koriš hermitage and its founder as a model for the latter's hesychastic organization of monastic life. The importance of Petar Koriški for church and national memory is evidenced by the latter's presence in the culture of the Serbian church, especially during the restoration of its autonomy. With that, the question of the asceticism of Venerable Petar Koriški gained topicality throughout many periods of Serbian history and culture.
