Abstract: Due to the fact that the mines with surface mining of copper ore are in the immediate vicinity of the town of Bor, and that the copper smelter is only a few hundred meters from the old city center, air quality is the most important environmental problem in the town and surrounding settlements. During 2020 and 2021, according to the Local Air Quality Monitoring Program, concentrations of suspended PM10 particles were measured at four places in the city and suburbs and the content of Pb, Cd, Ni, and As in PM10 samples on a daily basis was analyzed. In this paper, the measurement results for the heating and non - heating seasons are analyzed. It was found that at all observed measuring points (MP) except at the MP Jugopetrol, the concentrations of PM10 particles in the heating season were higher than in the non-heating season. On all MPs except MP Krivelj, the num-ber of days exceeding the daily limit value for PM10 concentrations was higher than the maximum allowed number of 35 days per year. The annual limit value for the concentration of As in PM10 was exceeded on all MPs. The obtained results indicate that the problem of air pollution with As content in PM10 still exists and that urgent measures should be taken to solve it in order to protect human health.

Sažetak: Zbog činjenice da su rudnici sa površinskim otkopavanjem rude bakra u neposrednoj blizini grada Bora, kao i da se topionica bakra nalazi na samo par stotina metara od starog centra grada, kvalitet vazduha je najvažniji ekološki problem u gradu i okolnim naseljima. U toku 2020. i 2021. godine prema Programu lokalnog monitoringa kvaliteta vazduha vršena su merenja koncentracija supendovanih čestica PM10 na četiri mesta u gradu i prigradskim naseljima i analiziran je sadržaj Pb, Cd, Ni i As u uzorcima PM10 na dnevnom nivou. U ovom radu odvojeno su analizirani rezultati merenja za period grejne i negrejne sezone. Ustanovljeno je da su na svim posmatranim mernim mestima (MM) osim na mernom mestu Jugopetrol koncentracije čestica PM10 u periodu grejne sezone više u odnosu na period negrejne sezone. Na svim MM osim na MM Krivelj broj dana sa prekoračenjima dnevne granične vrednosti za koncentracije PM10 bio je veći od maksimalno dozvoljenog broja od 35 dana godišnje. Na svim MM prekoračena je godišnja granična vredost za koncentraciju As u PM10. Dobijeni rezultati ukazuju na to da problem zagađenja vazduha sadržajem As u PM10 i dalje postoji i da hitno treba preduzeti mere za njegovo rešavanje u cilju zaštite zdravlja ljudi.
