Апстракт: У раду се на основу писања Недељних информативних новина (НИН), прате догађаји на Косову и Метохији у току тзв. „Косовског рата“, од јануара 1998. године до краја НАТО агресије јуна 1999. године. „Косовски рат“ је био оружана ескалација вишедеценијске кризе у односима између српског и албанског становништва на КиМ. Рат је окончан уз помоћ НАТО агресије на СРЈ, која је извршена без дозволе Уједињених нација, а резултирала је Кумановским споразумом и доношењем Резолуције 1244 у Савету безбедности УН којом је суверенитет над овом територијом привремено предат мисији Уједињених нација и међународним мировним снагама. Сукоб су пратили сви медији и штампа Србији, а у овом раду акценат је стављен на извештавање НИН-а, као једног од најстаријих недељних листова у Србији.

Summary: The paper analyzes the events in Kosovo and Metohija during the „Kosovo War“ from January 1998 to the end of the NATO aggression in June 1999, based on the writings of the Weekly Information Newspaper (NIN). The „Kosovo War“ was an armed escalation of the multi-decade crisis in the relations between the Serbian and Albanian population of Kosovo and Metohija. The war ended with the help of the NATO aggression against the FRY, which was carried out without the permission of the United Nations, and resulted in the Kumanovo Agreement and the adoption of Resolution 1244 in the UN Security Council, which temporarily handed over sovereignty over this territory to the United Nations mission and international peacekeeping forces. The conflict was followed by all the media and press in Serbia, and in this paper the emphasis is placed on the reporting of NIN, as one of the oldest weekly newspapers in Serbia. The analysis provided a broader picture of the course of the Kosovo crisis during 1998 to June 1999, and how primarily Serbian society experienced that crisis. In the end, we also see how NIN depicted Serbian society and the political scene from the point of view of permanent correspondent journalists who did not hesitate to criticize, but also to find themselves in the center of events, and therefore represents a valuable source for researching the „Kosovo War“ through the press.
