32nd EACTS Annual Meeting clinical trials update: ART, IMPAG, MITRA-FR and COAPT
INTRODUCTION: Decision-making for treatment strategies is based on clinical evidence mainly summarized in clinical guidelines. Clinical evidence results often from randomized trials which are published in high impact medical journals and presented at scientific meetings. These presentations and publications present a challenge for the correct interpretation of the design and the analyses. Appropriate interpretation is a necessary step for the clinical teams when attempting to apply this evidence to everyday clinic- al practice. Even high impact journals have identified areas for improvement in the way they publish research, and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) Annual Meeting provides an excellent opportunity to interpret and debate important evidence from different perspectives (...)
