Aпстракт. У тексту сагледавамо проблем страха од женског (реч је о страху од застрашујуће мајке, каква се јавља код мушкарца, односно страху од властите родне улоге, који се појављује код жена), који на есенцијалан начин одређује судбине јунака и гради смисао Аникиних времена. Крећући се у методолошким оквирима аналитичке психологије К. Г. Јунга, посебну пажњу ћемо, разумљиво, посветити архетиповима који се активирају у централним протагонистима (Михајловој сенци и аними, Аникином анимусу), али и архетипскoj представи која оживљава у лудилу попа Вујадина. Тим путем ћемо отклонити и сумње које су често изрицали управо психолошки тумачи ове приповетке, у погледу њеног структуралног и композициног јединства.

Summary: Anika’s Times (1931) belongs in the group of Andrić’s short stories that garnered most of the interpreters’ attention. And yet, noone has ever written about the issue of the fear of the feminine (the fear of the Terrible Mother, experienced by men, or the fear of one’s own gender role, experienced by women) although this aspect essentially forms the meaning of this multilayered, structurally complex short story. We approached the interpretation of Anika’s Times working within the methodological framework of C. G. Jung’s analytical psychology, as well as the previous psychological interpretations of this story. Thus, we paid special attention to the archetypes activated in the behavior of the central protagonists: Mihailo’s shadow and anima, Anika’s animus, as well as the archetypal image that comes to life in the madness of Vujadin the parish priest. The image of a group in which no individual is capable of integrating the feminine principle (as they weren’t given this developmental task in the first place) dominates this short story. We showed that, in such an environment, Anika acts a symbol (and the manifestation) of the internal war each inhabitant of the kasaba wages with the unconscious forces of their urges. We interpreted this in the context of other symbols that create a network within the story and contribute to the solidification of its structural unity.
