Апстракт: Седиште епископа у зависности од територијално-административног значаја града и према јерархијском рангу положај катедре, регулише положај епископског седишта у циљу очувања епископског ауторитета. Епископије нове црквене организације постају манастири/ктиторске задужбине, наглашавају да разлике између епископије и игуманије постају ирелевантне у односу на потребе државе и Цркве.

Episcopal seatings had an important role in strengthening the church organization. The arrangement of the Episcopal Churches and the spreading of jurisdictional authority in the territorial terms encompassed all the countries that were part of the medieval Serbian state. Church authority in relation to the territory can not be contrary to the state, that is to say, for the internal church order the territorial principle is also of importance, if we take in account its division into areas where, within the limits of ecclesiastical authority, diocesans have their jurisdiction. The reason for setting up the Episcopate at the monasteries reflects the state of the dilapidated territorial urbanization, where monastic churches took over the role of the cathedrals and safe places, and the bishops of the monastic brotherhood's headmen.
